Winter & Productivity! ♥

So I have been working on the website- changed up the layout for now and I've added a Graphic Design section to the Gallery. I moved my Photo Gallery under the Artist Bio section because it's all random stuff that isn't really part of my work XD since I am not a photographer. It's more just fun things I do and experience.

I hope winter will be non-fatal this year to North Carolina, since it's already freezing here, it's kind of hard to want to go out- so I've been trying to be productive. I've got a ton of commission work I need to work on and I will post those when they are done :3

I also won the Art to Wear Graphic Design Contest, so I posted the beginnings of that under there. I need to back-log some old Purple Sky work there as well whenever I get a chance. So just look for updates here and there.

Nekocon and New Artwork

So I know I haven't updated here in a while, but Anime USA was fun :D and nostalgic. There's only one con left to go this year-- in November, Nekocon. I posted one new piece in the Gallery and a few new photos in the Photo Gallery. I am finally graduating in December! Yey! So I will be able to dedicate more time and energy into my work. So I hope to increase the amount of updates on here as well as just in general doing more work and better work for you all :3

Please let me know of any cons going on around the east coast next year because I'd like to expand the number of events I attend in the coming year, assuming that the recession doesn't become a kill-buzz for conventions.

Anime USA + Nekocon + Precious Miseries

So the last two shows of the year for me are Anime USA in Arlington, VA, and Nekocon in Hampton, VA! Please come out and hang out with me and all the other artists! I'd like to have some new artwork to feature, definitely at Nekocon, but only maybe for Anime USA! I will be sharing a booth at Anime USA with Kathy Yang and with Bryan Turner at Nekocon! Please also, if you can, go see Dir en grey live at Rams Head Live the Monday following Nekocon! OR see them on the Saturday of Nekocon in Atlanta! Yey support Diru!

If anything else, please enjoy the halloween season! I am always very inspired around this time of year X3 so I hope to be getting more new work posted here. I am also going to be graduating in December with a Bachelor of Art + Design! Yey! So hopefully I'll be able to find a job in my field and do some awesomeness!

I will also be announcing possible work/publishing with Precious Miseries in November! Come back later for more info on this X3

*** For those of you who live in Cary/Raleigh, I will be showing my work at Pitch Gallery for Eccentrik Festival again around the end of October and I will be showing artwork from December to January at Coffee & Crepes at Crossroads Plaza!

Dragon-con + New York Anime Festival

Hey everyone! I'm trying to get a bit of new work up while I have a few days left of freedom from school T_T! But it's my last semester at the NCSU College of Design and I will be graduating finally in December! Woo-hoo!

The next con up is Dragon-con! I'm definitely looking forward to being back. I will be next to David Wong in the dealers area. So please come see me! I look forward to seeing some faces from last year and a ton of new faces!

After that I will be heading off to the NYAF with Paint Pixel Productions, Anime USA with Asian Chaos, and Nekocon next to Paint Pixel again X3 I hope to see everyone at one of these before the year lets out into 2009. So please come!!!

Comic Con + Otakon ♥

San Diego Comic-con

I am looking forward to being at Comic-con this year. I have never been to a convention on the west coast, so this will be a fun adventure. I hope to have lots of fun and hopefully my artwork will be well-received. I know there are a TON of amazing artists heading out to that one, so I'm excited to just see everyone else's awesome work T_T Look for me there if you are going to be there! I'll be in the dealers room with Shadowstar Games Inc. See you all ^_~

Otakon LOVE!

Man, I LOVE Otakon :3 I can't wait to see a ton of the awesome-est people ever! I have to say it is one of the cons I have the most fun at! I will be located in Table Island M with the company of Fatpuppy, Paint Pixel, RIP, Kathy Yang, and Bob Goodwin! Please come by!!!

I swear I'm still alive! Art to Wear and exams have eaten me alive this semester. But I'm coming back with a vengeance! I will have more artwork up this summer in comparison to what I have been posting. So look out! I already updated the Art to Wear Gallery & the regular Gallery. Animazement 2008!

Oh Animazement, one of my favorite cons of the year~ I'm running the Artists Alley again this year and I hope that all of our artists are just as happy and excited as I am! I'll be bringing my best and hopefully have a lot of new stuff to look at! I'm so behind on artwork T_T But I'll persevere to get it done. So please come! NCSU Art to Wear Show & Katsucon

NCSU Art to Wear Show Hey everybody! I'll be working with Maria Juri in designing and constructing a line of clothing for the NC State University Art to Wear fashion show! I'm doing much of the designing and Maria will be helping me construct. I'll be posting up a section for this soon! And I hope some of you can come out and watch the show on April 10th at 8:30PM at the Court of the Carolinas on campus.

Katsucon 2008! I'm looking forward to coming to Katsucon again and having lots of fun at the only winter con that I can get to! Please stop by our table, I'll be sharing with Paint Pixel Productions, Annie Hill! Who is awesome and amazing! So come hang out with us and take a look at my work!

Beginnings of a New Year!

First off! Welcome to Deathful.net, the humble abode of Iris Chen's artwork!

It's almost a new year and I'm ready to meet lots of new people and hopefully do lots of amazingly cool things this coming year! A few things on my list are to work on:

+ Charm Fairies for Shadowstar Games Inc.

+ Art for an Online Video Game with Ludoko Studios

And of course I always put a list of conventions I'll hopefully be attending out for everyone to see! Hopefully I will be coming to your town soon! I want to meet as many people as I can and I'm always SUPER thankful about having met EVERYONE that I get the chance to meet! You all are SO supportive and so awesome that I could hug you all! So please keep up your encouragement and I'll keep up my end of the bargain and continue to make better and better work for you.

Nekocon, Anime USA and New York Anime Festival

I've given Deathful.net a face-lift! Enjoy! It may get some tinkering here and there with the issues that come up-- but I'll get all the bugs out one day!

I'm looking forward to Nekocon this coming weekend! I hope to see a lot of people there and hopefully gain some new support ;3 But I'm definitely looking forward to Anime USA
(I haven't attended since the con first started) and seeing Back-on! It'll be awesome. And later in early December I'll be attending the New York Anime Festival. Which I am looking forward to like crazy waoh. It definitely seems to be a big deal and something worth getting excited over! I hope to see a lot of people I've talked with before at all of these cons and I'm definitely looking forward to meeting new people. So I'll see you all around!

I'm also announcing my work on an online game around December/January. I'll be doing the artwork/concept work for the entire game :D So look for tid-bits and sneak peaks of that coming soon!
